02 — Redirects

URLs that need a redirect

Shopify and WooCommerce use different URL structures. Every old address Google has indexed needs a permanent (301) redirect to its new home. Without one, those pages return “not found”, they lose their rankings, and the traffic they bring stops.

1,066

URLs to map

By type
  • Products842
  • Collections64
  • Pages22
  • Blog index pages2
  • Blog posts136

How each type maps, with examples from your store

Products

/products/{handle} → /product/{handle}/

/products/waxed-canvas-field-jacket → /product/waxed-canvas-field-jacket/

/products/merino-crew-sock-3-pack → /product/merino-crew-sock-3-pack/

Collections

/collections/{handle} → /product-category/{handle}/

/collections/outerwear → /product-category/outerwear/

/collections/new-arrivals → /product-category/new-arrivals/

Pages

/pages/{handle} → /{handle}/

/pages/size-guide → /size-guide/

/pages/our-story → /our-story/

Blog index pages

/blogs/{blog} → /category/{blog}/

/blogs/journal → /category/journal/

/blogs/guides → /category/guides/

Blog posts

/blogs/{blog}/{post} → /blog/{post}/

/blogs/journal/how-to-rewax-a-jacket → /blog/how-to-rewax-a-jacket/

/blogs/guides/layering-for-autumn → /blog/layering-for-autumn/

Targets assume WooCommerce defaults (/product/ and /product-category/) and a /blog/ post prefix. Shopify’s duplicate URLs, such as /collections/x/products/y, are covered by a handful of pattern rules rather than one-by-one redirects.

03 — Apps

Apps and their WooCommerce replacements

Detected from the scripts and app blocks your storefront loads. Apps that only run in your Shopify admin don't show up here, so I go through those when I review your audit.
  • Klaviyo

    Email marketing

    → Klaviyo for WooCommerce

Lists, profiles and flows stay in Klaviyo. Flows triggered by Shopify events need re-pointing to the WooCommerce integration.

  • Judge.me

    Reviews

    → Judge.me for WooCommerce

Judge.me runs on WooCommerce. Reviews move with the account once product IDs are re-matched.

  • Recharge

    Subscriptions

    → WooCommerce Subscriptions

Active subscribers and their stored cards need a planned move with your payment provider.

  • Gorgias

    Customer support

    → Gorgias WooCommerce integration

Ticket history stays in Gorgias. Reconnect the store so order data shows in tickets.

  • Google Analytics / Tag Manager

    Analytics

    → Google for WooCommerce

Same property. Historical data stays. Ecommerce events need re-checking on the new checkout.

  • Meta Pixel

    Ads & tracking

    → Facebook for WooCommerce

Same pixel. Product catalogue sync must be reconnected.

  • Size Chart Pro

    Unrecognised

    → To be matched

Installed as a theme app block. I'll match it to a WooCommerce plugin when I review your audit.

04 — Manual work

What won't transfer automatically

Migration tools move products, customers and orders. These are the things they miss, based on what this audit found in your store.
  1. 01

    Customer passwords

Shopify never exports passwords. Customer accounts and order history move across, but every customer sets a new password. A password-reset email goes out at launch.

    Applies to every Shopify store.

  2. 02

    Checkout, payments and Shopify Payments

Payment gateways are set up fresh on WooCommerce (Stripe, PayPal or WooPayments). Shopify Payments payouts and saved Shop Pay details don't carry over.

    Applies to every Shopify store.

  3. 03

    Discounts and automatic promotions

Discount codes can be exported and recreated. Automatic discounts, Shopify Scripts and Functions have to be rebuilt as WooCommerce rules.

    Applies to every Shopify store.

  4. 04

    Active subscriptions

Subscriber contracts and stored cards sit with the subscription app and payment processor. Moving them needs a token migration with your processor, or subscribers re-enter card details.

    Detected: Recharge.

  5. 05

    Product reviews

Reviews live in the review app, not in Shopify. They're exported (with photos where supported) and re-imported against the new product IDs.

    Detected: Judge.me.

  6. 06

    Gift card balances

Issued Shopify gift cards can't be moved as-is. Outstanding balances are exported and re-issued as WooCommerce gift cards with the same values.

Gift card products found in your catalogue.

  7. 07

    Metafields

Custom product fields (size guides, specs, care notes) don't show in public data. If you use them, they're mapped to custom fields during migration.

Not visible in public data; I check this when I review your audit.

  8. 08

    Product options and personalisation

Options stored by an options app, and products using all three Shopify option slots, need rebuilding as WooCommerce attributes or add-ons.

38 products use three option sets.

  9. 09

    Email automations

Your email platform keeps your lists, but flows triggered by Shopify events (abandoned cart, post-purchase) need re-pointing at WooCommerce.

    Detected: Klaviyo.

  10. 10

    Theme and design

Shopify themes don't run on WordPress. The design is recreated on a WooCommerce theme.

    Current theme: Impulse.

  11. 11

    Shopify reports and analytics history

Shopify's built-in reports stay behind. Google Analytics history is kept if you reuse the same property.

    Applies to every Shopify store.
